Love Stories
In a world often defined by fleeting emotions, we're diving deep into the unchanging and profound nature of love as revealed in the Bible. Join us for our four-part sermon series, "Learning About Love," where we explore the distinct and powerful expressions of love that shape our relationships and define our faith.
Part 1: Friendship Love (Philia)
Discover the beauty of Philia, the brotherly love that forms the foundation of true friendship. We'll explore biblical examples of deep bonds and learn how to cultivate meaningful connections that reflect God's design for community.
Part 2: Marriage Love (Eros)
Unpack the sacred covenant of Eros, the romantic and passionate love between a husband and wife. This sermon will illuminate the biblical principles for a strong, God-centered marriage, rooted in intimacy, commitment, and mutual respect.
Part 3: Family Love (Storge)
Explore the powerful and instinctive bond of Storge, the natural affection found within families. We'll look at the importance of nurturing relationships between parents, children, and siblings, and how this love provides a picture of our place in God's family.
4: Unconditional Love (Agape)
Finally, we will examine the highest form of love: Agape. This is the selfless, unconditional love of God for humanity, a love so profound that it was demonstrated by the ultimate sacrifice. We'll learn what it means to receive and to give this transformative love.
